Intern fast facts
- County Parks internships are paid! Pay ranges from $18.54/hour to $42.63/hour depending on the level of internship.
- Internships can be in the field, in an office, or both! All types of work support the mission and operation of County Parks.
- During our summer internship cohort program all internships feature:
- Career-building opportunities, including a meet and greet with the Parks Executives, Resume building workshop and Mock Interviews!
- Capstone Projects, including a presentation day at the end of the internship, enabling you to walk away from your time at Parks with project planning experience and a professional presentation under your belt!

Grant Park History Project Intern - Level III or IV
The Grant Park intern will learn how to become proficient in the multiple methods and techniques for recording history, how to enhance historical programs and research skills, and how to record collections and catalogue historical items.
Preferred area of Study/Major:
History, Library Science Or closely related field.

Invasive Wildlife Camera Trapping Intern - Level III or IV
The Invasive Wildlife intern will become proficient and gain experience in natural resource management in a wildland/urban landscape through invasive wildlife monitoring.
Preferred area of Study/Major:
Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Park Management Or closely related field.

Martial Cottle Historic Interviewing Project Intern - Level III
The Martial Cottle intern will gain experience in conducting structured interviews, presenting that information to management and how to effectively record historic information.
Preferred area of Study/Major:
Cultural Anthropology or Folklore Studies Or closely related field.

Park Ranger Operations Recruitment and Social Media Intern - Level II or III
The Ranger Ops intern will have the opportunity to gain experience with photography and videography production and techniques on how to utilize their material to develop technical skills and ultimately see their work in action.
Preferred Area of Study/Major:
Photography, Videography Or closely related field.

Land Use Agreements Monitoring Program Intern - Level III or IV
The Parks Real Estate intern will have the opportunity to learn about real property leasing, contract management, and develop their skills with databases, organization, and writing skills.
Preferred Area of Study/Major:
Parks Management, Business Administration Or closely related field.

Environmental Compliance Intern - Level III or IV
The Environment Safety intern will gain experience with compliance on a wide variety of environmental and safety regulations and how Parks works behind the scenes to provide clean, safe drinking water for its visitors and staff.
Preferred Area of Study/Major:
Environmental Studies, Water Resources Or closely related field.
