Closures

Park visitors who enter closed trails may be cited by a park ranger per SCC ORD B14-42.1(c) failure to comply with trail use restrictions.

Almaden Quicksilver County Park
- Calfire will conduct a fire fuel reduction project along the Hacienda Trail starting in the winter of 2024.
- Levee closures are in effect until construction activities are completed. Closures include parts of the Alviso Slough Trail and sections of the Mallard Slough Trail at Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. - During severe storms and high tides, the launch ramp may be closed; do not use it if it’s closed.
- Mallard Slough Trail and sections of Alviso Slough Trail at Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge are closed due to construction. The South San Francisco Bay Shoreline Project (Phase I) between the Alviso Slough/Guadalupe River and Coyote Creek is underway, and construction is scheduled to be completed by summer 2025. - Toyon Group Picnic Site and Parking Areas; Serpentine Trail; Dam Crest Woodchoppers Flat
- Anderson Lake Park's boating and fishing, boat and vehicle parking areas, and boat ramp
- Coyote Road from the toe of the dam to the boat and vehicle parking areas, and Lakeview Trail is closed from the Anderson Launch Ramp parking lot trailhead to the westernmost junction with the Rancho Laguna Seca Trail.

- Fishing will be closed along the entire reservoir shoreline
- Calero Reservoir will be temporarily closed on May 14, 2025. Valley Water will be conducting aquatic vegetation management operations.

Coyote Lake - Harvey Bear Ranch County Park
- There are no closures at this park.
- Sandy Wool Lake was restocked with 1000 lbs of trout on December 6, 2024.
- The trap and skeet range will be open during construction. Check-in will be located at the trailer north of the trap and skeet range. The Field Sports Park clubhouse is being remodeled and under construction from Monday, May 13, 2024 through May 2025.

- The main entrance kiosk will be renovated from Monday, March 24, to an estimated May 26, 2025. A reroute will be provided through Mt. Hamilton Road near Quimby Road. If paying for camping fees, day use, firewood, or ice, please bring cash or a check.
Lexington Reservoir County Park
- There are no closures at this park.
- Los Gatos Creek restroom is closed for repairs.
- The Los Gatos Creek Trail is partially closed due to unsafe conditions. A short detour is available for the 100’ section of trail that is closed.
- Marital Cottle Park walkway on Chynoweth Ave. will be closed from Monday, May 19 to Monday, May 26, 2025. Traffic control will be in place, please follow the detour signage.
Metcalf Motorcycle County Park
- There are no closures at this park.
- There are no closures at this park.
- Upper Penitencia Creek is closed year-round to fishing.
Rancho San Antonio County Park
- Mid-Peninsula Open Space operates this county park. Learn more here.
- Summit Rock is open Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to sunset and closed Monday-Fridays.
- Restricted Parking on Black Road (see Black Road map): To improve traffic flow for area residents and visitors at Sanborn County Park, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted resolutions restricting parking on Black Road. Press Release.

- The Chestnut restrooms is closed for the season.

Upper Stevens Creek County Park
- There are no closures at this park.
- The bridge on the single-track section of the Waterfall Loop has been closed due to safety concerns. To bypass it, use the adjacent fire road.
- Uvas Creek Trail to the bottom section of the Lower Swanson Creek Trail, including the Lower Falls Trail, due to safety concerns and repairs.
- Lower Falls Trail due to repairs.
- Reservations must be made before entering Uvas Canyon. They are required seven (7) days a week, including weekends and holidays.
- Lower Uvas Creek Trail is closed because of flooding.
Confirmation of your reservation must be printed and placed on your dashboard when parked inside Uvas Canyon County Park. Visit gooutsideandplay.org to make your reservation.
- There are no closures at this park.
- A portion of the Vasona Lake Trail is closed for repairs. The Town of Los Gatos will perform the repair project, which is estimated to be finished in August 2025.
- A portion of the bridge between Oak Meadow Park and Vasona County Park will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 14, to Friday, April 18, Monday, April 21 to Wednesday, April 23, and Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30 for maintenance work.
- Portions of the Lookout Trail, Redwood Trail, and Nature Trail are closed from April 7 to April 22 for work being conducted for wildland fuel mitigation.
