Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum group tours
Friday group tours – 10 to 11:30a, 1 to 2:30p
Location: Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum
Number of participants: minimum 10, maximum 35
Program duration: 1 hour program, 30 minutes self-guided and gift shop
Curious about the history of how local mercury mining impacted the California gold rush? Beginning on 3/21/25, the museum will be open on Fridays exclusively for group tour reservations. Groups of 10 - 35 may reserve a group tour for a Friday slot. Recommended for ages 9+.
Museum group tours on other days of the week, are subject to staff availability. Fill out a custom request form.
Custom program – Outside of County parks
Location: Within Santa Clara County (i.e. schools, senior centers, libraries, etc.)
Maximum number of participants: varies, depending on program
Program duration: varies, depending on program
Overview: Park interpretive staff are occasionally able to come out to your school or community center to provide a custom program about the natural or cultural history of our County parks. Availability is limited during peak field trip season (fall and spring), but we have more flexibility in winter and summer months.

Self-guided tours
Individuals and groups may conduct a self-guided park visit during open hours. However, groups of 10 or more are advised to contact the park interpretive staff in advance at [email protected] to find out if their activities may conflict with a previously scheduled group visit or event.
