Overview

This school field trip is designed for first grade students to explore the unique ways animals have adapted to life along the Coyote Creek watershed. Students will look and listen for evidence of local wildlife while also having opportunities to touch realia like bones, fur, and other body parts that help protect the animals in this special habitat. All field trips will include opportunities for both physical activity through hiking and movement while also allowing for quiet observation and reflection.

This field trip program aligns with Next Generation Science Standards for grades 1 and 2 (LS1.A, LS1.D).
