Visitor hosts provide visitor assistance in the Ranch House, answer questions, provide park information, interpret the natural and cultural history of the park, and help with the care and upkeep of the facility. Great for those who like interacting with people, sharing their knowledge, learning, and being indoors!
On the first Friday of every month, the Friends of Santa Teresa Park host a workday where volunteers help with land stewardship in Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch and Santa Teresa County Park. This is an excellent opportunity for people who are interested in being outside, enjoy landscaping and gardening, like exploring historic sites, and want to create a welcoming environment for visitors of all kinds. Every September, Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch hosts an annual Hispanic Heritage Month event called La Fuente. Visitors have the chance to listen to music, watch folklórico dancers, meet local organizations, and participate in an interpretive walk led by County Parks staff.
This event will be held in September 2025. Volunteers assist with welcoming the public and activity stations during La Fuente. Stay tuned for information about how you can sign up.
